The Briggs & Stratton Generator Service Playbook Has Changed. Your Old Checklist Hasn't.

Here's my opinion, and I'm not going to soften it: most Briggs & Stratton generator problems aren't the generator. They're the assumptions installers bring to the service call.

I've been handling generator service orders for 8 years. I've personally made—and documented—14 significant mistakes, totaling roughly $18,000 in wasted budget. One more thing: don't trust old fuel. Gasoline with ethanol absorbs water. A generator that sits for months can develop varnish inside the filter housing.
